I was enjoying a nice relaxing morning until....

my mom decided to drop me off at doggie daycamp.  I was a little scared of that big dog behind me. Yikes!

My dad snapped these pictures at work the other day.
Straight ahead is the Billings airport (this is looking East)

It's National Dog Day (aka National Max Day!)...some of my finer...and not so finer...moments!

Don't judge me...I need my beauty sleep

One year ago today this little girl made my mom and dad an Aunt & Uncle for the first time.  My humans were so sad they couldn't be there to help her celebrate turning one (me, I was okay, she made some scary noises...and smells...sometimes)

But the humans got to FaceTime with her and tell her Happy Birthday!

She was more interested in playing though...

Playing hard to get with the ladies :-)

My mom tried to take a picture of the awesome moon the other night, but since there are fires burning in the area it looked very hazy...oh well...

233/365

This picture was taken on the rims north of Billings.  It's fire season up here and the closest fire to us is about an hour away (right next to this place we went to in June, 900 acres are burning).  The sky has been very hazy and it smells like a campfire outside.  Besides the fact that land is burning and people houses are at risk....we haven't been able to go on adventures because there are a lot of fires where we usually go and explore.  Hopefully we get some snow, or at least some rain soon!

The humans favorite downtown spot, the Montana Brewing Company.

It's National Aviation Day!

I love going on airplane rides!

So I did something bad...

Sunday morning when my mom let me outside, I was going about doing my business when I found something on the ground that smelled pretty bad.  My instinct tells me to roll in stuff that smells bad so that I smell less appealing to all the predators we have out here (mountain lions, bears, etc.).  But I forgot about my scariest predator...my dad!  Needless to say he was not impressed with my new smell.  He told my mom either she gives me a bath or he's going to take me through the car wash.  Luckily my mom is nice and took me to the doggie spa and gave me a bath.  My dad stayed on the other side of the glass and took pictures.

All clean!

Seriously, what would my humans do without me?

Here I am helping my mom cook...I help keep the floor clean!

And here I am helping my dad get the moth that got in the house.
They would have dirty floors and lots of bugs without me!

Happy Birthday to the BEST Nana a dog could ask for!

She filled up the pool for me when it was hot....

Played Chuck-It with me...

And helped take care of me when I got into the barbwire...
I do no miss this cone of shame....or the sweater....

We hope you have an awesome birthday and miss you lots!

One of the many things my humans love about Montana is the cool summer nights.  They can sit outside at their favorite brew pub and not be eaten alive by mosquitoes and melt in the hot humid night.
See...long sleeves are a must after the sun goes down around here! (Not more me though, my fur is just enough!)

We had a little celebration here this week.  My mom has had 7 melanoma moles (and many other biopsies) over the past 5 years. Crazy right?!? Well a few weeks ago she went to her dermatologist and he decided to just biopsy one, and for the first time in 5 years she is clear to go for three months and didn't have to have another surgery!!! Whoop Whoop!

I decided to use this time to let everyone know how real melanoma is, and can be for young people. This one below was a surgery my mom had January 2012. It was a Stage 1A Melanoma and because of the area that needed to be removed and the location of the mole, the doctors couldn't close the site so she had an open wound for about 3 months.
And this is how it looks today, a year and a half later...
My mom has been lucky in that all her melanomas were caught early.  Just a few skin exams every year and lymph nodes checked and chest X-ray once a year.

So remember your sunscreen and go to the dermatologist at least once a year for a skin exam. And remember, there is no such thing as a healthy tan.

Summer nights are AMAZING here! Always a slight breeze and never humid!

Ever since we moved out here my mom has wanted to see a Moose, an Elk and a Bear.  Well, since my dad and I were lucky enough to see a Moose last week, my dad was feeling kinda bad since my mom was at work and missed out.  So what did he do....
He took her to the Billings Zoo to see the bears!
Luckily I got to stay home...I'm kinda scared of bears...
