Wow...I'm still recovering from yesterday's adventure day, it's hard work hiking at higher elevations! So East Rosebud Lake (which sits at 6,200 feet!) is in the Custer National Forest and its a part of the Beartooth Mountain range. We had about a 2 hour drive to get there but mostly because part of that drive was on an unpaved mountain road that still had snow on it (thank goodness for 4wheel drive!) Since its still the off season for out here we didn't see anyone else on the trail, which was pretty cool since its way far away from any city so the only noises are the ones you make and the wildlife. Needless to say, it was amazing!

My dad was nice enough to wear the backpack today so he could carry moms nice camera and tripod

Thank goodness the bears were still sleeping!

This is the starting point to many different hiking trails, the longest one going all the way into Cooke City which is at an entrance to Yellowstone

It's crazy that you can do a 26 miles hike into Yellowstone from here, but if you drive the closest route is about 90 miles and that road is only open May-September
