151/365

My dads job takes him all over Montana and today he was in Butte for a couple hours. Because of a lot of geographical features, people have been coming to Butte to mine for almost 150 years now.  People initially came for gold but realized the abundance of copper, silver, and other minerals. William A. Clarke, one of the three "Copper Kings", made a fortune in Montana and had a net worth of $150 million at the time of his death in 1925.
They still mine in Butte, but there are a lot of closed mines that still stand around the city. He thought this one was interesting because where you stand you are a mile above sea level and the mine goes a mile down, crazy right!
